We're here to raise awareness, share real stories, and publicly pressure Booking.com to take responsibility for phishing scams conducted via their own messaging system.
Booking.com had decided its either too difficult to resolve the current unnacceptable situatiuon or its not in their financial interests, we're here to force their hand!
We'll combine extensive cyber security knowlege, honesty and integrity in ways booking.com doesn't to publish your horror stories and get this issue the attention it deserves.
"We paid through a Booking.com app message. It looked real. It wasn't. ยฃ450 gone before check-in."
"Got a cancellation threat via the app. Turns out it was a scammer *in* the app. Booking.com said it was the hotels fault"
"Booking support said they โarenโt responsibleโ. But we booked through their system."
Phishers often use realistic domains with misspellings or redirects. Booking.com's site messging CANNOT be trusted, always contact the hotel directly, or even better, book directly!!
Scammers play on panic. Messages claiming bookings will be cancelled unless paid *right now* are a classic trick.
